Hello. Welcome to my webpage. Its purpose is many-fold. First, I hope to
find a centralized location to store my website so I do not have to keep
changing my web address. It is also a place for me to record some pictures
and news for family and friends. Finally, it is a place for me to record
some of my thoughts that people may find interesting and the little projects
I work on. I hope that on occasion I produce something that is useful to
someone other than myself. If someone has suggestions or comments, or I
simply did something incorrect, please feel free to let me know.
NewsNowStill working and having fun. Feb 3, 2011 Still working hard as my initial six month review approaches. I have been enjoying my work and the people I work with so far. We have also started house hunting and will hopefully get something soon. Sept 13, 2010 First day of work at my new job, Google. The position is a software engineer in test, and I am working on tools used by testers to test the web. Aug 2010 I was at GenCon with Charles and both Kristina and I were offered jobs, which we accepted. Kristina was offered a tenured track faculty position at the UW Bothell. I was offered a job at Google. Aug 19, 2009 Got back from Scotland and we had an awesome time. I really enjoyed the hiking, the people, and the cider. Now I am back to the real world. Aug 3, 2009 Leaving for Scotland. Kristina and I will be hiking the West Highland Way. It should be a lot of fun. This will be my first international trip. I am really looking forward to spending some time in a foreign country and getting a chance to see it up close. July 31, 2009 Last day of work for DigiPen Institute of Technology and Puget Sound Skills Center. I will miss the students. Dec 13, 2008 I am still, still working as a high school programming instructor at Puget Sound Skills Center (PSSC). Unfortunately, not much content was found to be put on the class website. I guess we will see what is produced this year. Dec 10, 2007 I am still working as a high school programming instructor at the SeaTac OSC, now called Puget Sound Skills Center (PSSC). I have put together a brief website about the class and you can visit it if you are interested at www.psscdigipen.net . Hopefully I will be adding significant content over the course of this school year. October 31, 2006 I have been working as a high school programming instructor at the SeaTac OSC, a vocational school. I work as a contract teacher through DigiPen Institute of Technology, teaching Game Programming and Animation. It has been fun, and I have been doing this since the beginning of September. I have been pretty busy and tired trying to keep up with class material, so I have slacked off in my extracurricular activities. However, I am catching up so I may resume my work again soon. Other than that, I am basically working and sleeping and little else. July 19, 2006 Decided not to post any further programming news on this page. It will still be updated on the programming page. July 18, 2006 Fixed ParmX typedefs in functor classes in Functor subsystem. July 15-17, 2006 Visited my half-sister Shannon and her family, and my birth mom. We had a lot of fun including a visit to the zoo and playing games. July 13, 2006 Added a modified version of the Functor and Type subsystems. July 5, 2006 Added a extended version of the Loki::Functor and broke the TypeInfo headers into their own group. Both groups of code are available under Various Code. June 24, 2006 Attended my sister's wedding to Brett Rogers in Pasco. It was hot but a lot of fun. May 29, 2006 Added an simple, first-stage version of an Endian class to Programming::Various Code. I also added licensing information. I also changed the #define in QuantityUnits.h, hopefully for the last time. May 28, 2006 Revised the CSE891 Exploration 1 project, see Programming::New Stuff. May 27, 2006 Revised the Monte Carlo Raytracer project page. May 26, 2006 Posted a newer version of TempleAndFountain project, see Programming::New Stuff. May 26, 2006 Found out earlier this month that funding was too unsteady at the moment at the University of Idaho, so I had to decline my offer of acceptance. May 17-24, 2006 Went to LA for my brother in-law's wedding. I will try to get pictures up soon. April 21-23, 2006 Attended the EVO-WIBO conference at Port Townsend. April 15, 2006 Created this new version of my website. Maybe I will switch to a framed version at some point. March 16-17th, 2006 Visited the University of Idaho. Since February 2006 I have been looking for fellowships, summer interships, and short term work until the Fall semester at the University of Idaho, but without success. February 2006 Applied to Bioinformatics and Computational Biology PhD program at the University of Idaho, Moscow, and was accepted. I am now trying to finalize my position in a lab there. December 2005 Defended my thesis and graduated from Michigan State University. There is a link to my thesis and WhirlingDervish, which is the program I created to conduct the research for my thesis. |
